Bicicletta Cook-Off

This week we had a cook-off in Bicicletta! We started off by splitting into our home groups, each with the same list of ingredients:
· self-raising flour
· cocoa
· salt
· bananas
· eggs
· butter
· icing sugar
· milk

Then we:
- revised what we already knew about procedural texts
- brainstormed options for what we could cook with these ingredients
- voted on which option to cook (democracy!)
- made a list of verbs which we might need
- wrote our recipes

Whilst writing our recipes, we did lots of maths:
       · estimating
       · ordinal numbers
       · halves and quarters
       · ways of measuring quantities, eg cups, grams, spoons

Ideas about what we could cook with these ingredients (Nerida’s home group)
